With God's Guidance
Many of you know that our son is adopted. I still remember the painstaking moments of waiting for the call saying that a mistake had been made and that he would not be coming home to us. Finally came the day when I held him in my arms and our family was complete, however here we are again.
Now fast forward 15 1/2 years later and my life changed again when 10 months ago then a 13-year-old, hazel eyed, brown hair, 5'7 cutie pie stole my heart. She came into our family like a soft whisper. She never asked for anything but to be loved and respected. She spent many summer days with us, 4th of July, and then last August she came to live with our family. As time went on her being here was like second nature. She is not a guest she is family.
Tomorrow we go to court to decide now where this beautiful 14-year-old girl where begin to find her forever home. She has been thrown from pillar to post. She has struggled with the security of knowing when she will be feed to whether she will have a place to live. The little things we would take for granted she never does. She values those little things because her life has gone without the little things for so long.
I know that God has a plan for Alyssa. I know he also put us in her life for a reason. I am not sure what that reason is but I am sure it will reveal it's self soon.
The night before we got the call from Bethany I wrote this in Jeffrey's adoption diary: "A big part of being a Christian is to walk with the Lord and trust in him for guidance and reassurance. Never allow yourself the opportunity to question his ways. Have faith in his plan for your life. Do things in your life that is pleasing to the Lord and do everything in his name."
On the night before we fight for our beautiful Alyssa I know God will help us get through this battle. As long as we believe with our heart he will provide us our strength.
We love you baby girl!!!
