I am not a Racist

I have come to the conclusion that saying this does not make it so.  The last week and a half I have heard so much about "white privilege", "black lives matter", "all lives matter", and the list goes on.  I have seen protests, riots, and looting.  All of which come from a place of passion, anger, insecurity, unknown, and demands for change.

Leadership, well there is none in this county,  For those who are followers of our current administration please tell me how Donald Trump or any of his followers have helped calm the fears and provided help that change will happen.  Let me tell you what I have seen from them, NOT A DAMN THING.   He mocks the 'bible" by holding it up in front of a church for what?  To try and convenience those watching he is a God-fearing Christian who believes that we need to come together as a country.  Did you notice there was not one person standing with him that was of color or ethnic diversity?  NO, and why is that?  Because the leader of this country is racist.  He is a bully and a bigot.  If you are not with Donald Trump you are against him so move out of the way.

There is a great video by Kimberly Jones, you can find it on Instagram if you view Mekia Cox profile, "How We Can Win".   Really listen to what she is saying.  It is all true.  Why our forefathers decided it was right to go to another country, uproot the black community, and bring them to America to farm their lands, take care of their children, clean their homes, and work in their factories is beyond me.  It was never right and for people to think it was right then you need to look deeper inside yourself.

I know I will probably get backlash and be unfollowed from those who thought they knew me but you know what I will take that chance.  I am a 57-year-old white woman and I feel in my heart people of color, ethnic diversity, gender, LGBT, and anyone other than "white privilege" straight Americans are treated differently.  They are not understood because ignorance views them differently not that they are different.  They are not different they are human... HUMAN RACE...all of US!!!!

And while I am providing a history lesson, unless your family history is Native American Indian, chances are your family are immigrants.

So, as you decide whether you are or are not a racist make sure you understand why people of color are so angry.  They want to be seen, heard, and for our society to treat them with the respect they deserve.
